Elon Musk to Light Up at Twitter Board Meeting?

The celebrity billionaire who bought more than 9% of Twitter shares on Monday and then decided to join the company’s board of directors, has just tweeted that the next board meeting is going to be lit. While the meaning of the word and Musk's intentions are open to interpretations, he accompanied this ambiguous message with a picture of himself smoking a blunt. Could it be that the guy wasn't kidding and Twitter's CEOs are in for a hotboxing sesh?

Still Viral After Almost Four Years

The now-famous pic is a still frame from the recording of the Joe Rogan podcast where Musk was offered a fat marijuana blunt by the host. He hesitated for only a moment, asking whether it was legal, and then took a hit. It was not clear from the video, though, if he actually inhaled because the camera shifted to the host as Elon passed him back the blunt.

Maybe Musk smoked the blunt like a cigar — without inhaling.

The clip went viral, and the stills from it spawned countless memes, with “Why don’t we just launch Earth to space?” arguably the funniest.

Is Twitter’s Future Gonna be Lit?

On Monday, when the news of Musk becoming Twitter’s biggest shareholder was published, the company's shares skyrocketed. However, the momentum lasted for only a couple of days, and since then, the stock has been on a bit of a slide. Today’s pre-market also doesn’t look optimistic for the micro-blogging platform, and the new board member’s tweet didn’t seem to lighten the mood.

The company showed profits only briefly — in 2018 and 2019 — and has been struggling to monetize its users ever since. But now that one of the most celebrated figures in business has stepped in, investors hope that he will lend the struggling platform his magic touch.
